On the road (mod)

Trike paused as he allowed for Todd to catch up and once the red haired boy did, he noticed something. A kind of silver color moving across the ground. Tilting his head, he sneaked a little closer till he could see that it was a pokemon. It looked like a ball of fur with a nose sticking out of it and it's eyes seemed to be closed. Well it certainly had a neat look to it, it could probably hide very well when the snow decided to fall. For a moment, it disappeared behind a bush though the sound of the bush rustling and the pokemon's cries caused Todd to look at his starter confused. Trike trotted over to the silver bundle only to see it struggling to get away from the bush it was at. Looking back to Todd, the electrike gave a bark and Todd came over the rest of the way.

"You think it's stuck Trike?" Todd asked after he bent down and looked at the silver pokemon.

Trike nodded and put it's paws on a few twigs to move em out of the way and Todd gently grabbed hold of the swinub that was stuck. The pokemon thrashed about some more and gave a startled cry as if felt the child's hands on it. The thrashing wasn't helping getting the fella free but with a bit more effort, Todd was able to pull the swinub free.

"There ya go." Todd said as he set the pokemon down.

What Todd didn't expect was for the pokemon to lash out, jumping forward they tackled into Trike and caused the electrice type to stagger away. Surprised by how this harmless encounter had started out nice and well, it seemed the wild pokemon wasn't as grateful for the rescue. Trike shook himself off and he was just as confused as Todd was, it wasn't like they were trying to do harm. What was that for?!

"That's a mean thing to do ya know." Todd told the wild pokemon as he stood up. "We were just trying to help ya."

Course the swinub didn't seem to really care as it turned around and went after Todd. This startled the lad as he had never been chased by a pokemon before, at least one that didn't seem happy. Running away from it, Trike gave a bark and followed after the two. Looking over his shoulder to see his companion gaining, Todd knew he had to have em do something. The silver pokemon wasn't too happy despite the good intentions that was meant.

"Trike, use tackle." Todd requested.

Giving a bark in acknowledgement Trike picked up the speed and launched himself into the swinbu. Todd was able to stop and he turned round to see what was going to happen next. The swinub picked itself up and shook it's fur. Rocks started to lift up in the air as it used Ancient Power and they were hurled at Trike. Knowing he should've said something, Todd froze for a moment. Electricity was weak to rock an ground right?! Wouldn't that just end the whole thing? Trike though hadn't frozen up, jumping from side to side, he managed to dodge the move this time. A bark from his starter snapped Todd out of it.

"Use tackle." Todd instructed.

The electric pokemon took off once more and struck the swinub once more. Reaching into his bag, he took out a pokeball and threw it at the swinub. Trike ran back over to Todd and they both watched the pokeball move around.

The pokeball wiggled about for a moment but quickly it burst open, allowing the swinub to scurry away. Todd gave a nervous chuckle and shrugged as Trike looked at him. Okay, maybe that was a bad idea. Seeing as how there was no use in just standing about, Todd started to head back to the path with Trike following behind. That was a rather interesting experience, it honestly surprised Todd but he knew it shouldn't have. Before he even got to the path though, a blue and white pokemon had appeared from the bushes and was walking around.

"I wonder..." todd muttered as he pondered if it was best to try this again, he looked at Trike who seemed fine with the notion. "Alright...Trike us Thunderwave."

Static appeared around Trike before it shot forward at the ice type, causing it to be paralyzed and might be unable to move. The Cubchoo shook itself when it was hit by the move and it took notice of the electric pokemon that had struck it. Snow formed around the small bear and was short forward as it used Powder Snow. The move hit and even Todd could feel the slightly more chilled air. Trike shuddered from the cold and while damage had been dealt, he seemed alright.

"Use Tackle." Todd instructed.

Darting forward, Trike's attack missed as the cubchoo dodged the move. Though as it went to attack, it froze in place due to the previous Thunder Wave. Giving the order once again, Trike charged forward and this time the tackle landed. The cubchoo used Powder Snow once again and it struck Trike once more.

"Use leer." Todd said, perhaps it was time to try something other than weakening the target?

Trike stood his ground and glared at the cubchoo, lowering the ice type's defenses. The snow picked up once again as the cubchoo used Powder Snow but this time Trike was able to dodge it.

"One more tackle." Todd said.

Trike darted forward again and hit the ice type. Grabbing a pokeball from his bag, Todd tossed it. Watching the ice pokemon enter the pokeball and the red an white item just wiggled on the ground.

"WE DID IT!!!!" Todd shouted happily as he picked up the pokeball from the snow an he ran around.

Trike followed, barking a few times but they were happy as well. Coming to a halt once away from the snow patch caused by the battle, he clicked the button an a red light appeared as Ted was let out of the pokeball. Bending own, Todd reached out with a hand an held it out to the ice type.

"Welcome aboard Ted." Todd said happily though in a much more normal tone than his shouting for joy earlier.

The ice bear tilted it's head for a moment though reached with both paws an grabbed the child's outstretched hand. His little paws were cold but due to Ted being a ice pokemon, that couldn't be avoided. Todd gave a bigger smile an once the little pokemon released his hand, he pulled his backpack off an started to look through it. He didn't know how far away the next town or city was from their current spot, and Trike had been taking a beating. Pulling out three Sweet Hearts, he gave one to Ted an two to Trike.

"These'll help." Todd said as the two pokemon munched on the small chocolate items.

With some of their health regained, Todd closed the bag an stood up. He was just about to say something when he felt something hit his bag an then start tugging on it! Looking over his shoulder, he notice the pink pokemon with leaves on it's head. It must've seen the chocolate an wanted some! Trike barked at the wild pokemon though the Hoppip didn't like being told what to do by a captured pokemon an delivered a swift tackle to the electric type.

"Hey, leave him alone." Todd said as he picked up Trike. "Ted, use powder snow."

A icy wind followed by snow swept towards the pink pokemon an the air current made it drift away. The pokemon shuddered as a good amount of damage was dealt due to type weakness. However the hoppip's leaves glowed as it use Synthesis, allowing it to regain some of the healthy it had lost. The pokemon landed on the ground and used splash, just flopping about like a fish. A...confusing move though Todd looked to Ted.

"Once more." Todd instructed causing the icy wind from Powder Snow to hit the pokemon an sweep it off the ground and into the air.

Reaching into the bag, he took out a pokeball an threw it at the Hoppip.

Amazement came to his face seeing how they managed to catch the Hoppip, picking the pokeball up. He was about to congratulate Ted on a great job when a girl on roller skates showed up, stating that she was after the same hoppip. Wasn't it a bad idea to have skates on when on dirt road?

"I...I'm sorry...I'm sure there's many other hoppip around though.." Todd started.

"Too late now!" Skategirl Katalina replied as she held a pokeball. "Since we're both trainers, it's time to battle."

Releasing the pokeball, a budew appeared and Todd gave a weak sigh. True being a trainer meant you'd have to battle other trainers. Though it was time to see just what was going to happen by partaking in this one.

"Okay Ted, you're up." Todd said, Ted came over to be in front of his trainer while Trike took a seat on the ground next to Ted.

"Budew Watersport." Katalina instructed.

The budew jumped about, throwing a bunch of water into the air and causing it to come down slowly thus weakening all fire attacks. While a fire type would do well in this situation anyway, Todd had something else up his sleeve. Ice was stronger than Grass so maybe there was a chance of this working despite a level difference.

"Powder Snow, Ted!" Todd said.

Snow picked up around Ted and was launched forward at the Budew. Striking a very solid hit, the Budew was pushed a little bit back from the attack but remained in the game as it still had a good deal of health left.

"Use Growth Budew." Katalina instructed once more.

Increasing in size for a few moments, the Budew's special had been raised. Though Todd didn't quite know what that meant.

"Use Powder Snow again." Todd said.

Kicking up the snow with a icy wind again, Ted launched it at the Budew. Hitting it with a stronger force and causing it to stumble backwards once more. A good bit of it's health had depleated with that though it still was in the game.

"Use Absorb Budew." Katalina instructed.

A small vine appeared and struck Ted, sapping away some of his health to regain it's own. Though it didn't do much damage since it was a grass type move. Still if that kept happening, Todd knew that Ted would be in trouble losing health that way.

"Powder Snow." Todd said.

The Icy wind was picked up with snow and sent towards Budew, the move struck rather soundly and with that the Budew fainted. The girl looked displeased as she returned her pokemon to the ball and let the tangela out. Seeing that Ted seemed alright, he kept em out and in the game.

"Use Vine Whip!" kataline ordered, a vine like appendage appeared and swung towards Ted, slapping the ice bear away.

"You okay Ted?" Todd asked as Ted got up, the ice bear merely nodded as it stood up though Todd wondered if he should switch him out. "Powder snow, once more!"

Kicking up the snow in the icy wind, Ted shot it towards the Tangela. Dealing a powerful blow and leaving the pokemon with half of it's health.

"Use COnstrict." Katalina ordered.

Vines appeared around Tangela and it shot them towards Ted, wrapping the poor bear in them and squeezing. Seeing as how this was a bad spot but Todd doubted he could return the pokemon due to the grip the Tangela had on it, he knew he had little choice but to let this go as it was going.

"Powder snow Ted, you can do it." Todd encouraged.

Kicking up the icy wind and snow, Ted launched it at the Tangela. It's health was almost to the red now and the pokemon ended up frozen! The tangela stood there like a ice scupltare and while the vines squeezed Ted, it didn't do as much damage.

"Tangela?!" Katalin requested, seeing her poor pokemon frozen.

"Once more Ted, Powder Snow!" Todd said.

Bring up the snow and wind one more time, they were launched at the frozen Tangela and they struck. Taking away the last bit of it's health and releasing Ted from the vines.
