Yeah right. This girl was seeming to be more an more like his sister by the minute. Why did people have to act one way but actually be another? It mae little to no sense in the young red head's mind. Choosing to bite his tongue, the lad just hoped she'd stop being...oh what was a good word for it? Full of herself? No...she didn't quite portray that. Knowing it was best to just try an ignore it, Todd went to doing that. It wouldn't help if he just let himself fall to his own emotions and get annoyed by this girl. Adjusting his grip on the egg, he could feel it move about and for a few moments, that made him forget about the fact he was with a not so pleasent girl. "This is probably the right way." Todd said, trying to reassure Kennedy's choosing of a direction. 6/10

| THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS IN THIS WORLD After hesitating for a moment for whatever reason, Kennedy nodded. She took slow steps forward, focusing on her walking rather than her surroundings. Of course, she'd never admit to feeling awkward even if one were to ask. Naturally, she didn't like this Todd kid, and something in the air gave her an idea that perhaps he wasn't enjoying her company much either. With a mental huff, the girl tried to convince herself it was his loss, and that children tend to get flustered at the first moment an older person stops drowning them in attention. But something left an uneasiness that wasn't easily pushed away. And the stiff silence wasn't improving matters much at all.
With no background music, save the crunching of the cold ground below them and the wind whistling through their hair, no words were exhanged. Intersections would come up, and Kennedy, more than a few paces ahead, would make the decision by walking down one of the paths. The kid didn't need to follow if he didn't feel inclined to; and rather, she felt at this point it would be better off if she turned her head around and didn't see his red-brown hair. Though it may have been emotionally better over-all for her, anxiety slowly ate away at her as they travelled. It was like if he sudden't wasn't there behind her it was a personal insult towards her. But more than anything, she'd be alone once again.
"So, what brought you out here?" She didn't look to see if he was still following her due to fear, and instead took the gamble to speak to what may just be open air. "Fancy yourself some sort of trainer in the making?"

Todd was trying to like this girl, it was just certain words she choose and the tone that made him...unhappy. He left home to prove something and also to get away from his sister, that didn't mean all girls were bad, no. He knew everyone was different, it was just the traits shown that had him unhappy. Age really didn't matter in this at all, it was just the words used and how they acted. Shivering a bit, he held the egg closer to his chest to try and keep it warmer as he followed the girl. "Not quite." Todd answered. "I wanted to show my sister that I could go out in the world and do something, nothing as glorious as being a champion but being out on my own with my pokemon and having a good time." Glancing down to Trike, the electrike pokemon shuddered from the cold. Perhaps he should return his starter to the pokeball? Had to be warmer in there than out here walking around in the cold snow. "What about you?" Todd asked. 7/10

| THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS IN THIS WORLD Lifting a dainty hand in the air, Kennedy felt wind blow between her fingers, and as she walked, it almost felt as if she were running her hands through water. She stopped this silly business as soon as Todd began to speak again. "A sister, huh..." Her voice trailed off as she listened to his words. He had a sibling, interesting. Though, from he had said, she infered that he wasn't fond of her, it made her curious.
"What is it like to have a sibling?" She asked, blushing slightly due to embarrassment over asking such a frivolous question. "I mean- how is to live with someone around your age?" Her face upturned in a solemn frown, and it looked at one point as if her countenance had slanted. Before giving him a chance to respond, she felt it necessary to explain why. She'd already made herself sound naive and ignorant enough.
"I've...never spent much time with anyone my age. Rather, most of my time was taken up helping entertain my parent's guests, or with my own independent studies." A sigh escaped her thin lips, and her eyes had cast down towards the ground. She didn't want any of his pity, and, afraid of seeing just that in his eyes, tried to distance himself from him. Perhaps, more than that, she was afraid he was going to call it stupid, and recoiled herself in preparence. It was too soon to talk about such personal matters- and rather, it was never something anyone was interested in. If there's anything she'd learned about her generation, it was that other people's problems weren't worth their time, and imevitably drew them away.

"Well it's not all that bad having siblings, I could always confide in my brothers and...well I really wish that my sister an I could be on better terms but she seems pretty happy with how our current relationship is." Todd answered. "What's it like being a only child?" Part of him was curious though from the way this girl acted, it wasn't that great it seemed. Entertaining her parent's guest? What the heck did that mean? While confused, he wondered if he should ask her about it. Though seeing her quick her pace made him choose not to. However, he didn't turn away from her. Instead he picked up his pace to follow after her. "I'm sorry....if me mentioning my sister brought up anything...unhappy." Todd apologized. 8/10

| THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS IN THIS WORLD The fake smile she'd made a half-hearted attempted at feigning dissolved, forming a more natural solemn expression. A bit of guilt in her heart, Kennedy quickly shook her head. "No, you have no need to apologize..." Her walking soon slowed, eventually stopping. "If anything, I am the one most qualified to be doing so. No one needed to listen to my self-pity." She wasn't sure if pity was the word she was looking for, but nothing else seemed to suit the way she felt more appropriately. At the end of the day, she wanted little more than to have people idolize her and treat her a goddess, yet expect to earn pity and be given special treatment because of it. It'd only just now dawned on her that it couldn't be had both ways, and rather, either way the chances of that happening were slim.
Shaking her head, Kennedy tried to blink back tears that felt like they were going to well up. This was an inappropriate situation for a sappy scene, and she'd realized that to cry in front of this boy would leave him thinking it didn't take much to light her fuse. As true as this may be, her pride always needed to be considered, and this was no exception. Using her arm, she shielded her face as well as she could and turning away, walking at a brisker pace then before. Forget the egg, forget the power of friendship that she'd maybe been left to thinking was real. Not for her, an unlucky elite who had chosen wealth and beauty over sentimentality and friends against her will. Kennedy didn't care turn back around, nor did she dare look down at the egg cradled between her arms. If the relationship between Pokemon and Coordinator was essential, she had a feeling this creature would have a rough life ahead of them.

"I didn't see if as self-pity...I thought you were just curious, though...I'm probably wrong." Todd answered as he glanced down to his egg. The egg had been moving a lot more now and while that got his thoughts to somewhat more happy place, he still couldn't ignore Kennedy. A only child...well to some that was great! Todd loved his brothers and his sister, though he would admit that life would've been easier without his sister. However if his sister was never around then he never would've met Trike or any of the other great pokemon he captured nor the people he'd battled. Noticing Kennedy walking faster, Todd quicked his pace. Maybe she saw the end of the route? "Hey, wait up." Todd requested in a kind voice. "How's your egg doing?" 9/10

| THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS IN THIS WORLD Kennedy hadn't even heard what Todd had said at first. Not because she was actively trying to ignore him, but because she was so enflamed by her over-dramatized shame that everything else had been tuned out.She held her head in the palm of a hand, shaking her head slowly to herself as she slowly walked along. She could hear the young boy's pattering of feet vaguely, but it didn't fully register to her what it meant. The only thing that she could register was how stupid she felt. It was such a trivial thing, but the fact that she said the things that she said made her realize just how horrible she was at first impression.s To start off with, it was apparent the kid didn't take a fancy to her, and to make matters worse, he had to be introduced to how vulnerable and ignorant she really was, and how hard it was for her to manage her own emotions.
This self-pitying rampage would have continued well into the journey, and it would be unlikely she would so much as turn to look at the boy behind her if it weren't for something that stopped her in her tracks. A shaking could be felt from the egg in her arms, and slowing to a half, she looked down with puzzled wonder. Kennedy had almost forgotten about this unborn creature, the creature that had been the catalyst for her pity party to begin with. Looking at it, the life that threatened to break loose any moment reminder her of this, and made her feel even sillier than before, but in a different way.
Shaking her head, and almost letting slip a smile, the words that Todd spoke finally registered. "...I think it will be hatching soon." She was no expert, but the amount of shaking it had suddenly begun indicated that it wasn't planning on staying in that egg for much longer.
Recalling the boy's own position, she pivoted around so she could see him as well. "Might it be correct to assume yours is in the same condition?" Scanning the area, she noticed a convenient tree stump located next to a large boulder. She placed her egg down gingerly on the stump, kneeling down beside it. The last thing she wanted to do was leave the egg someplace unsavory when it decided to break loose.

"Hey, wait up. Please." Todd said as he still followed. Why was she ignoring him now? What had he said to make her so mad at him if that was it? Or had she seen something that spooked her? There was no way of knowing this as he just chased after her. Really hoping she'd stop since his egg started to shift about more. When she did stop, he skidded to a halt and looked at her. Taking notice of her egg shifting about. "Yeah I think it's..." Todd said though he went quiet as he heard a soft crack and looked to see the egg cracking. "IT is!" Todd's face lit up with curiosity and a good deal of joy too. He'd soon be able to meet the newest member of their team! Taking a seat on the ground so there was no risk of dropping it, he set it on his lap when he folded his legs pretzel style. Trike took a seat next to him and watched it. 10/10!

| THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS IN THIS WORLD There was something slightly endearing in seeing the child-like excitement spread upon Todd's face. It was obvious on first glance that this kid wasn't much of one to hold in his emotions; if he felt something strong enough, he just went for it.
Normally this would be about the time Kennedy would grow oddly jealous at a commoner for having something she didn't, but now wasn't the time. Rather, she was equally as excited at Todd, and no longer had room to think about how she'd embarassed herself in front of the kid. Instead, she watched both eggs with great anticipation, wondering what fate would have in store.
The hesitation to take another another living creature as her own was still there, though for the moment shoved away. It was as if she'd hoped the excitement of having the Pokemon would make her forget that she had no qualifications for training it properly. Perhaps she hoped that when the Pokemon was born, she'd by some miracle know just what to do to keep it from being a bitter, malnourished part of her team due to living it's whole life with someone who could just barely care for herself.
The egg as it cracked, emitted a peculiar light, which was of no real shock to Kennedy. These monsters were less than mundane, all of their wacky abilities proving that well. It still shook just as madly as before, and it seemed to be in a mad panic to escape it's eggy confines. Not that she could blame it; it did look rather uncomfortable in there.
