| THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS IN THIS WORLD All morals and values flew out of the metaphorical door once minutes turned into hours. This was trivial work that a bicycle or car could have accomplished with the slightest of ease; but of course her own silly pride kept Kennedy rom taking money from her parents to purchase those things. Luckily for her she had another mode of transportation- horse.
Though not too pleased with this outcome, Aya understood that her master wasn't very...used to any physical exertion, and allowed Kennedy to ride her without more than some immediate grunts and digs at the wet dirt. Quickly, however, this devolved into Aya carrying a sleeping Kennedy, as well as a cat that was heavier than she looked resting atop her back as well. But the silver-haired loli was resting peacefully, dreaming of 5-star hotels and hot water, and who could wake up a sleeping child, however old she actually was? Besides, she was a much nicer person when asleep. | ☁ |

| THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS IN THIS WORLD Aya would have been more than content allowing Kennedy and Atelier to doze off all the way to the city (even if Kennedy had an affinity for snoring, as she soon learned), but a few Pokemon melted out of the scenery, catching her eye and stopping her with a jolt. This was apparently enough to startle both of her occupants back to the world of the living. Rubbing her foggy eyes a few times, Kennedy blinked and made sense of what was around her. Two Pokemon stood in front of her, One hiding behind the larger one as if afraid and in need of protection. Upon closer inspection, Kennedy believed she may have figured out why. "Well, I may not be an expert on Pokemon, but if what I've studied has bared the correct fruit, I'd say that's not what a Combee normally looks like." Excitement welled throughout her bones, and though her legs were weak from lack of use, and she couldn't see straight, the young girl was pumped with energy she only found in the opportunity to find something unique and make it her own. She came to the conclusion that those two Pokemon were a little much for one Pokemon who'd been riding it out through the forest all day to handle, so, fiddling through her purse, she threw into the air in a graceful gesture Schwarz. The Pansear was locked onto his target quickly, and though ready to attack, he timidly glanced up at Kennedy, awaiting instructions. "Let's get that Sandshrew out of the way first, he looks like more trouble than he's worth. Use leer- please." The please was only added as an afterthought, mostly as a mental note to herself to keep herself calm. Though it was only the Pokemon who could see, it was obvious they held opinions just the same as people did, and she wanted her troupe to respect her.
Schwarz nodded slowly, preparing himself, before he ran up to the Sandshrew, standing his ground as an obvious opponent. The Pokemon was obviously confident, head held high and chest puffed out in sheer confidence in himself. Believing that it would be easy to knock him down a few sizes, the Pansear squared up his shoulders, narrowing his eyes as she stared right into the Pokemon's soul. For a moment, his pupils vanish, leaving the before confident Sandshrew shaken up for a few moments. This didn't last too long, and with one glance back at the Combee, whom had shrunken back and was trying to hide, he quickly countered with a scratch. "Leer again." No pleases, but no buts were had and the attack- after Schwarz rubbed his head- was done in the same manner as before. Though he did what he could to sneer and snicker at Pansear and especially at the trainer, a shadow of doubt formed in his eyes, and nervously the Sandshrew smiled back at the Combee. Soon after, the Sandshrew jabbed out a paw, and from one of his claws shot a stinger, the tip glaring purple. Pansear cried out, ripping it out as fast as he could, hopping up and down as if on hot coals. Fortunately, there didn't seem to be any lasting poisoning effect. Confidence filling up to greater levels when she saw the Sandshre was more vulnerable, she thought it time to act. "Now it's time for kick." In Jackie-Chan style, Schwarz leap out, kicking the Sandshrew clear across the face. It didn't even make an attempt at dodging, simply taking the hit and falling to the ground. The Combee looked started, flying up to its friend, but was stopped by a glance. Sandshrew stood himself up, and with a guttural growl lunged with a scratch similar to the first attack. Schwarz was growing weak, but Kennedy didn't want to use a potion unless it was absolutely necessary. "Try one more kick." Though for whatever reason, Schwarz didn't seem super up for it this time, he didn't think to disobey and kicked the Sandshrew square in the chest, sending it flying. It banged up against an evergreen, shaking the branches just enough to let some snow sprinkle down on the now concious but very weak Pokemon. Quickly Kennedy's attention sprung over to the shiny Combee, who was now hovering over the Sandshrew, panicking more than a little. Oblivious to the rather tragic events that had been going on, with a confident laugh (think of rich girl anime character variety), Kennedy pointed over to Aya. "You should be able to finish this off quickly, yes?" To that Aya grunted, shaking her head with a look of disapproval. When Kennedy was about to question her stubborn-ness, the Ponyta gestured with her head the scene unfolding in front of them. Now talking a moment to soak it in, the young girl's hands unclenched and her body went limp as her heart grew heavier. "Oh...I see. So he was being protected..." Biting her lip, she shook her head slowly. "Still...use Tail Whip." She paused for a beat. "Please." Not sure what exactly she was planning but willing to trust her trainer, Aya did as was directed. Scared but very visibly angry, the Combee flapped his two small wings aggressively, sending a gust that blew against Aya's thick body. "Now, Tackle please." It felt wrong to watch a large pony practically leap into a bee, but it was done, and quickly the Combee grew weak, letting a Sweet Scent filled the air as if thinking it would improve the situation. But with another tackle and another gust from the Combee, Kennedy took out two Pokeballs, eyes narrowed and filled with a sudden ambition she hadn't had minutes ago. "Alright, it's either they both become mine, or neither. If it's any other way, I'm not sure what I'd do with myself." Was her single thought as she threw them both in the air.

| THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS IN THIS WORLD It got away. Of course it did- she wasn't sure what exactly it was she was expecting. As she held the Pokeball in her hand of the Combee, she stared vacantly at the tired-out Sandshrew. All it did was look up and glare at Kennedy, one that told her: "I'm not angry at you, just dissapointed. But actually, I'm angry too".
As it scurried away like a coward, a sudden rage bubbled up inside of the young girl as if she'd suddenly been put under a hot stovetop. Her frozen knuckles turned white as she clenched the ball in her hand, and suddenly she could feel a drop of water hit her dryed-out skin. It took her a moment to recognize that those were here tears that she felt. Not much, but a few whose purpose she couldn't quite tie down. It was a mixture of guilt over breaking friends apart, and anger at seeing one of the friends abandon the other. But she knew there was nothing that could be done, nothing she could do but try to shrug it off. No, forgetting it ever happened wouldn't work. Maybe if she'd knocked them both knocked-out and went on with her life, but now it was her load. So she would just have to be a better friend and a better protector than he'd had before.
This new mindset appealed to her in a very peculiar fashion, and as she was abset-mindely walking (Aya strolled a cautious distance behind, Schwarz and Atelier along for the ride), she almost missed her newest opponents.
Fortunately for her, neither of them seemed to have anything to do with one another, nor did Kennedy care to get to invested in whatever it was that ailed them. Instead, she gingerly placed the occupied Pokeball into her bag, making a stiff, silent gesture for Aya to trot over. Seeing as how Schwarz was low on health, Kennedy brought him back into his Pokeball, and with that started her commands:"Atleier, scratch on Pancham."
With her typical hoity-toity attitude, the Glameow gracefully sprung off the Ponyta's back, delivering the scratch of her claws as landed. The Pancham wasn't much phased by this, and rather, was very irked, glaring at Atelier and sending a cold shiver down her spine that straightened her tail for just a moment. Taking no mind to this, Kennedy spoke again. "Aya, Growl." Exchanging a quick glance with Atelier, Aya did as was told, brushing her hooves against the cold ground and growling deeply and making each of her opponents sheepishly take a step back. But without a beat in between, Glameow growled back, a deep, mischievous purr that had similar effects to Aya's own.
"Fine. Scratch again Atelier. Same target." A very similar pattern was kept up, with Aya using growl each turn, and Atelier using scratch. The Glameow was a startlingly challenging foe, a fact that Kennedy took with a grain of salt. With each of the opponents' attacks getting continuously weaker, even a higher-leveled Pokemon couldn't do much for long. And when Pancham fainted, each of her own could focus on the one. "Forget Growl, now use Tail Whip." This was pretty well the only change in the dynamic, and the battle inched away slowly with only one Pokemon attempting to distribute attacks onto two others, one of which was attacking. But the slow but steady chipping away of health quickly got Kennedy impatient, and suddenly she stammered: "Tackle, Aya." And like a miracle, that tackle did just enough to send the Glameow spinning on her heels and running away. But it was a joyless victory, and without so much as a congratulatory word, Kennedy returned both of her Pokemon. She realized that there were things she needed to think about, and morals that needed to set into place if she was to continue on with this "Pokemon Journey" thing. Just a little alone time would suffice, at least for the time being.

| THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS IN THIS WORLD There was no background noise, save for the distant chirruping of birds up in the trees, and the crunching of frosted grass at her feet. No longer was she as tired as she had been before, and in all honesty she couldn't imagine how she'd grown so tired to begin with. Sure, the forest was dreary, even with the sun held up high above the horizon, but there were other things that needed to be accomplished, rather than her lazing around and sleeping. It was unecessarily dangerous, and a rather shameful thing for a woman of her class to do.
Thoughts like that swirling in her head , with exactly no thoughts at all on occasion, Kennedy's trek soon became solemn, which was more than okay with her. She couldn't wring the guilt out of her quite yet, ad didn't think having three Pokemon pestering her in some way, shape, or form was going to fix that. Especially since there was a fourth ball full now...
It seemed like she simply must have been making some progress, but before she could do anything to check, a most peculiar creature appeared. At first, it was just a blue speck, but it approached with incredible speed. Eyebrows raising, but otherwise apathetic, Kennedy took a few cautious steps forward. When the figure came into clearer view, she quickly recognized the scurrying creature as the bug Pokemon Karrablast. This creature was a particular piece of work, and it hobbled with no balance from one side of the path to the other. It looked as if the poor Pokemon had had too much to drink, and she almost managed a chuckle with that thought. She creased her lips, bending down and ineffectively stopping the Karrablast in its irregular path. It tried to run right through her, and either it was in an immense hurry, or it hadn't the brains to realize there was anything there.
With a downhearted sigh, Kennedy curled her cold hands on each side of the Pokemon's ovular body. "Excuse me, good sir. But might I ask where the fire is?" She wasn't sure if she'd expected a response from it, but she got absolutely none. The Pokemon didn't even look up to acknowledge her, just continued running in place. "What are you, the white rabbit?" Kennedy also asked, though more rhetorically than the first. Now in a crouching position, the placed one hand on the "horn" apparatus at the top of his head, which managed to keep him still while she took out a Pokeball with the other. "This ought to knock some sense into the poor thing." Her piteous tone spoke softly as she let Aya back out of her ball.
The Ponyta seemed a bit confused as to why she was seeing the light of the afternoon after such a short while (that being, a couple hours or so), but could tell from one quick look that; a.) There was a Lemmings-esque Pokemon in her midst, and b.) Her trainer was in just an equally dejected spirit as before. Swishing her tail once or twice, the even-tempered girl awaiting a command, which was soon given.
"Growl." This was quickly executed, and though the Karrablast looked up, it still wouldn't stop moving. Rather, this only perturbed it, striking a match and lighting a fire that make it all the more jittery. Kennedy couldn't even hold it any more, and off the little guy went into the sunset.
Emotion rose in Kennedy's eyes, as if she was said to see it go. It was an eccentric creature, but it was something. Eyes downcast, she shrugged at no one in particular. But Aya nudged her with her snout, gesturing with her head towards the direction the Karrablast had travelled. Eyes lighting up for just a moment, the silver haired girl nodded in favor. And like that, Aya was off like a rocket, Kennedy jogging at as quick a pace her numb feet could muster.
"Growl again, and this time stop the Karrablast in his tracks!" With renewed spirit, Aya bellowed with surprising ferocity, managing to scare the Karrablast stiff. Kennedy eventually catching up with the two, she watched as the startled Pokemon attempted to retaliate. But it seemed still in as much of a jittery rush as before, and with a quick peck turned tail once again. "Don't let the fiend escape! Now's the time for Tackle!" Kennedy extended her arm in a pointing gesture, feet confident on the ground. Something about this fighting spirit, for no real reason, brought exuberance back into her body, and suddenly she felt like making an effort. Aya felt the same, and bowing her head in preparation, she dashed up to the smaller Pokemon, managing a decent blow that couldn't be topped by yet another hasty peck.
"Tail Whip next please!" It didn't look as if the Karrablast was going to escape, so now was the time to use a less distracting maneuver. Whipping her tail back and forth, Aya managed to leave the Karrablast open and vulnerable, with its only retaliation a leer. "Once more!" Such was done, though this time not to the same effect at the first.
It seemed that at long last the wild Pokemon was done messing around with the two of them, and it deemed to begin to store up energy. It's horn above its head began to glow a bright green, and in its blinding light, the horn increased in size. Take a cautionary step back, Aya looked nervously back at her trainer. "You can take it, I believe in you." Was all that she could say in response as she watched it charge. Nodding at her Pokemon, who nodded back, the Ponyta took a step back forward just when the Karrablast charged up towards her and knocked her to the ground with the bright horn.
"Are you- alright?" Kennedy bend down beside her Pokemon, who was now scuffed up and covered with dirt. Laying on her flank, Aya managed to lift up her head, eyes turning back to get a look at her trainer. "Can you get back up...?" She added, heedful not to press to much. But without hesitation, Aya stumbled back onto her hooves, legs wobbling but still keeping her upright. She grunted through her nostrils, signalling that she was ready. Almost brought to tears by this cliche turn of events, Kennedy nodded her head slowly a few time, clenching her fists. "Alright! Finish this off with one more tackle!" Tossing back her head before running, Aya bolted towards the Karrablast, who was already trying to escape once again. With a solid tackle, the Ponyta practically pinned the Pokemon down to the ground, and with that, it was out of the game.
---
After using a potion, Kennedy pat Aya on her enflamed back, smiling a subdued smile. "I couldn't have asked for a more stellar performance." Aya - 05 - Female - Flash Fire Growl - Tackle - Tail Whip12/15 Exp

| THE ONE AND ONLY PRINCESS IN THIS WORLD Though this had renewed vigor after the victory, however tight it was, Aya seemed exhausted. She tossed her head and tried to pretend like the fight hadn't taken anything out of her. But Kennedy feigned a light-hearted chuckle, running her pale fingers along the Ponyta's thin coat of tan-colored fur. "You could really use a break; you look like hell ran you over." Though Aya hesitated, due to not wanting to leave her master alone once again, Kennedy noticed this, and tried to give reassurance "Don't worry about me, that isn't your place. You've done more than what I could have expected already." Seemingly satisfied with an answer that had made improvements from before in terms of warm-heartedness, Aya bowed her head. Tapping the Pokeball on the center of Aya's forehead, white light poured out, engulfing Aya and bringing her back into her capsule. Gripping the ball tightly for a moment, Kennedy gave a tight-lipped smile, eyes showing the faintest sign of a shimmer. But after a moment, she remembered what her immediate goal was, and continued on.
It wasn't until much later when something caught Kennedy's eye. A...floating ice cream cone? Not at all familiar with a Pokemon of that variety, Kennedy made her way into the shrubbery where she saw the creature, hoping to get a closer look. It didn't seem the Pokemon had any interest in taking a look herself, and almost immediately shot off like a light in the opposite direction. "Dear Arceus, not this again." Kennedy cursed softly, shoving her hand into her bag and throwing out a Pokeball as far as her weak throwing arm could. "Get it's attention with Scratch!" Though it certainly didn't seem like getting its attention was necessary. But when Kennedy had given the attack, Schwarz just turned to look at her, puzzled.
"What are you- doing?" Kennedy realized half-way through exactly what it was; the Pokemon had vanished from sight. Face morphed into a slant, Kennedy tapped her feet a bit impatiently. "What I don't understand is all these Pokemon's aversion towards battling." Though as soon as that had been said, a sudden onslaught of icicle shards shot out towards her and her Pokemon. Protecting herself with her face, Kennedy softly cried.
"Kick, quickly!"
Trying to avoid the attacks, Schwarz lunged towards the Vanillite, following the direction the spears came from to find it. And with a swift kick to the backside, the floating ice cream cone was smacked back onto the path. Shaking its head, it's body glowed a bright white for a few moments, before returning to normal."It must be using harden." She thought aloud. "Kick once again!" A pattern like this continued, with the Vanillite using harden every turn until it became difficult for it to take much damage with each turn. Though it looked like it was running low on health, it was a huge waste of time and energy. "Hang in there. I can't imagine it shall take much longer..." And the Pokemon had vanished once again, as if in thin air.
"Keep your eyes sharp, the fiend seems to be at it again." Did this creature fancy itself a ninja? This time it seemed to have had a different game plan, and Kennedy almost missed it. The Vanillite appeared out of nowhere behind the Pansear, clothed in darkness, and with its eyes glowing bright yellow, it smiled an eerie smile, as if in attempt at scaring Schwarz. He turned his head around to look at it, and though a bit startled, was left wondering what the point of that was. Shaking her head, Kennedy had no real answer to that. A creature as small and innocent-looking could hardly scare even the most naive of creatures. "Enough playing around, end this with a scratch." And, running a long claw along the Vanillite's face (?) it seemed out of it, collapsing to the ground. "At least it didn't run again," Was all Kennedy had to say about that.
