IS THIS FREEDOM,hover for notes | Despite the calmness of the overcast sky, a budding coordinator, all graced with intelligence and athleticism, wrapped around a sense of pride and dignity, carelessly lounged. From the distance there was Terusov offering to handle Ronite. It was utterly sweet of him to do that for the Shelmet than being his usual reckless self when he was left to his own devices. Eryn didn’t get a chance to have the bug-type sport into any conflict this week. Surprisingly, Ignazio joined them making sure Terusov would stop throwing the poor Shelmet up in the air. She didn’t want to be in the way of the trio. They were enjoying the weather and she couldn’t argue with that. Eryn turned away sullenly from her other pokemon. Right now, she had to look out for Hugo who was somewhat far from the gang. The shinx preferred to sit silently, ears erect, tail and foreleg dangling carelessly over the edge of the pile of uneased earth. His eyes, amber-brown in hue, focused largely on the dancing glows that beamed on the surface, the exploring touch of the sun were marching on the dense and bare land. Whatever was nearby became a light show, whether it was the false vision making it curiously shake his mind or an illusion. The shinx tilted his cranium, watching as the darkened mix of splotched figures rose to the surface, snapped up an insect, and disappeared again, all in a matter of seconds.
How easy was it to die? Eryn asked herself this quite often. Was time too cruel to have even the weak hold their empty pages? Not even most will have a chapter. To know that when you were gone, something else might live… She pondered the weightiness of the risen question as she proceeded to fix up her materials. Do pokemon meet such a fate, or did they pass every day just bringing it without knowing the true depth? It's a foolish topic to bring up even now but she was curious to know more about pokemon. For people, eventually a belief of karma or taboo will suffocate their victim. Surely humans weren’t invincible, surely they had some weakness. Some had died- someway, somehow, they had too eventually. Do they mourn their losses? Or were they like the insects- once you were gone, that was that?
Lessened answers were showing. As nothing had motioned into pure reason for behavior. Like all animals and beasts, inheriting what ancestors to descendants have blindly spoke in history. We blame instinct. Shifting a little bit, the lass sighed inwardly as she slowly slipped into a more relaxed position, shutting her eyes to rest her fleeing thoughts. She’d only ever been around for one death- that of her mom. Growing old had been humiliating for such a beautiful damsel. It drained the life from her eyes, slowly, day by day. It took the sheen from her brilliant features and made her hair ragged and clumped. It took the song from her voice and made her sound raspy and pitiful. The final days had been the worst- the last day had been the best. To see the joyful elder sleeping so peacefully… perhaps death was never too much of a bad thing. Perhaps it was nothing but pity on the living, those who had nothing left to live for…
It was a habit to seek the answers but never has she been able to tell it all with the happy ending it deserved. Like the gap between her hands, was there blank meaning. A crevice with an abyss that had requirements in order to fix it. Another deep sigh, and Eryn opened her oculars again, glancing up to watch clouds shift across the sky and let down orbs of veil by the sunlight. The hint of musical tones from the tuneful zangoose from afar had reached her attention for a split second. It was a blooming scenery. Today she made it through with making sure they were fed and had a comfy place to sleep, now it was time for training. She almost forgot what it was like with company especially when their all only pokemon. On the day of upholding the position of coordinator had only beckoned the laughter of her deceased idol. She might've followed a purposely set snare in order to consume whatever leftovers the top coordinator of the Obstina region had received in their pastime. The day continued to grow older and Eryn's alert eyes only managed to be glued to mystifying tears of light just like her shinx. Eyes still fixed with a pale layer. As if she awakened on a platform in somebody else's dream without invitation.

IS THIS FREEDOM,hover for notes | Thud! The unidentified sound had Hugo ablaze in a honey-like shine. He remained unexcitable to it all but was ready to protect his new family if this was meant to be a threat. He signaled the approaching danger in order for his trainer to see. Eryn soon rolled her head to the side so she could peer at what caused such a disruptive sound. No clues jumped at her. But, indeed reeked of disorder. The lass reacted quickly, not taking chances to stay put. Her shinx waltzed over with radiance dressed around it’s body, the glossed static had a lustrous flash that Eryn refused to overlook. There was a wild pokemon around somewhere. She called over the other half of her team who were still having fun by the river. The incredulous expressions Terusov was making had caused much hilarity to the point where they got sidetracked. They were lucky enough that Eryn’s ear-splitting talent at whistling had snapped them out of their paradise.
Terusov lugged the two on his back since their weight was sustainable. He posed infront of Eryn getting himself ready for a battle against the odds. But, something roped around that thought of using the zangoose. She remembers clearly of his last brawl, how he foolishly joined the skylarking of pokemon at the poke center. In the silence of her musing, Eryn could only speak with her eyes. Looking at Terusov from head-to-toe, with a clenching expression. She had to bail from that center because of him and she had to stay the rest of the night, camping...in freezing temperatures. Eryn began to reject the offer of picking him with a shake of her head. Instead, she chose Hugo. He’d been around the longest and didn’t have his turn at battling under her supervision. Eryn brought out Terusov and Ronnie's capsules and made sure to make the travel easier for them both.
The girl trotted forward, her shinx trailing after her. Eryn noticed the tiny fish, and saw in it's glare that it wanted to fight Hugo. But, for a water-type it was so lackadaisical. It didn’t growl nor splash, for moment Eryn began to think it was asleep by the way it floated to the surface of the river. Maybe the freezing temperatures was responsible for holding such a boring creature. It was cute and no doubt beautiful but she didn’t get much of a feeling that it was worth to catch. Besides, wasting another pokeball was gonna really put her into a bad mood. The frugal trainer decided that she’d use this chance for her shinx to gain some experience. The cub, who had been observing from the background, moved into battle position. It bared it’s young fangs and gave a sizable roar. “Start off with Tackle, Hugo. Watch it carefully and try to keep up once it strikes back.”
Hugo tanked the Peck fairly well, and it did fairly low damage. Though a honed impact pelted the petite pokemon's side, it kept a stoic expression. All good... She muttered after breathing a sigh of relief. The shinx continued to ambush the goldeen making sure he’d keep close to the edge if he had too. The eased attack had given the goldeen less time to make a quick payback, the weighted strength was outstanding especially on land. The goldeen remained persistent and used another Peck. The slate hue resurfaced atop it’s forehead and the goldeen rushed in a confident manor.
Hugo relentlessly reigned to be unaffected to the flying attack taking up only a pinch of damage. He used another Tackle in the process of his turn and made sure he’d pry this goldeen back to the ground. Eryn's fern irises focused close on the two’s brawl now still no hint of a smile on her face. She didn’t want to distract Hugo and he was wonderful for listening to her commands. As the foe was casted to the side it spouted tracks of water. Ignazio watched as the two fought out and then looked upward as if concerned for the rain to come. Being a ghost and fire type the litwick didn't particularly appreciate rain and as her trainer Eryn knew it. She scanned the next attack the goldeen was using with the pokedex and it was Water Spout. The move is said to lower attacks of fire types. Well, Ignazio was half of that and maybe he was sensing such change in the atmosphere. The crystalized droplets of water sprinkled in the air and landed on her right wrist. It’s so cold. She responded, the folded thought had her tug at the sleeves of her sweater.
The shinx propelled it’s frame at the goldeen once more, and Eryn closed her eyes. Her legs shifted as they shook from the recoil. The ground beneath her rattled as the goldeen bruised the land. With the pokemon being taken care of the shinx dodged back to Eryn who awaited him. The shinx was animated after completing it’s first battle. It was moment that should never grow old and Eryn became enlivened from the sprinting youth that rushed towards her. She scooped the shinx off it’s paws and twirled it once or twice before stopping. The puddles around them danced as the earth below them couldn’t steady out from their noise. Paw prints mashed in the muddied surface and the usual clicking of her heels delayed. As though they were sharing the same universe, it was a rapturous feeling. “You did fine.” The untroubled shinx felt content with such a serious praise. Eryn tried to smile but instead the edge of her lips yanked to the side and curled awkwardly. After awhile things were brought back down to earth and their joyous fit was washed out from their bodies. “…Let’s….move on shall we?” Eryn carried the two, making sure she supported the shinx comfortable to rest while it watched the scenery behind her. Ignazio adjusted himself and the litiwck’s light rusted from the dewdrops that dozed on the shinx’s muzzle.
[Summary] A wild Goldeen appeared! Golden used Peck! It's not very effective. Shinx used Tackle! Goldeen used Peck! It's not very effective. Shinx used Tackle! Goldeen used Water Sport! Shinx used Tackle! The wild Goldeen fainted!

Post by Bellamy Jordan on Jan 5, 2016 3:10:44 GMT 2
Having reached Ulmaria City just a few days ago, Bellamy Jordan was still exploring the route that led into the city from Calitha. He wanted to be thorough in his examination of the area, and the river bank was an area he did not yet consider fully explored by him. He wasn't even sure which species called this river home. So today he'd woken up early, left his inn, and was out to see which Pokemon he could spot and observe their behaviors.
It wasn't too long passed since he had experienced a loss at the hands of a stranger not too far from where he stood now. That lost had cost him a hard hit to his own self-esteem as a researcher and Pokemon owner (not to mention twenty hard-earned dollars). Since then, he'd been thinking about how he could help his Pokemon gain more experience along their journey together. He was finding the task daunting. He would much rather spend his time reading and researching, not training. But he knew that the work he was able to do - the places he was able to go - would be directly related to how capable his Pokemon were of keeping him and themselves safe. There seemed to be no way out of this conundrum.
He stopped walking for a moment, his pause brought on by being lost in his own thoughts. He knew he would have to get out of his own thoughts somehow, otherwise at the day's end he would consider this time in the field a waste. I was too distracted, he would tell himself, and he'd be back out on Route 1 tomorrow for the umpteenth time. Luckily, the shrill cry of a Pokemon was enough to shake him awake.
Looking up, Jordan would find the source of the noise. A captured Shinx had just ended a battle with a wild fish Pokemon by tackling it. And now, the electric-type Pokemon and its owner, a young woman, were coming his way, along with the rest of what he assumed were her Pokemon. He was some distance away, and he didn't know if they could see him or not, but he guessed he would soon come into their line of vision if their trajectory didn't change. A social interaction seemed almost inevitable as Bellamy continued walking along the river bank to meet the party.

IS THIS FREEDOM,hover for notes | Things had been going great for her, the training and challenges were booming and Eryn was raking in the cash every night it seemed, her little slice of reality was turning out to be profitable and it made her a tad bit proud of herself. If she ever got to reach the upcoming pokemon contest at least she’ll assure herself that she came prepared. Her team was improving by the second and their company has definitely grown on her. Not by blood, but still felt like family was with her.
It wasn’t often that she got the chance to just stroll around holding a pokemon. The plush fur mended in the cavities of her sweater and large rounded ears resembled more of a toy to be fair. It was plenty of a distraction, even the pouched items seemed to be losing their existence because of this junior.
As Eryn reached the destination, mid-way to the top, she spotted another person. She held tight to Hugo being cautious. Eryn walked slowly passed by a puddle and caught her reflection. She didn’t look too out of place she thought. She had taken to wearing a simple attire, it allowed her to blend in better if she had to duck into a crowd and she didn’t wear anything too flashy: just a fuzzed sweater accompanied by a jacket with fur at the collar being well paired with her heels, along with a precious dog tag necklace still coated with a lovely silver. It was plain enough and didn’t draw attention, unlike most that liked to flaunt their affiliation as a coordinator. But, just because she blended in didn’t mean her reputation didn’t precede her and she had taken a few unnecessary turns on her way here today to ditch a possible tail and she didn’t want to waste any time in letting them catch up to her. She would like to make her greeting from the distance. But, what was she some feral? Encased in wrong ideas. Maybe just walking past the person without saying anything would be better. Unlike Eryn, Hugo's patience grew increasingly thin with each passing moment. Alright, that was it. He may be a glorified as an obedient ‘mon but he will not stand to be pampered especially at such a irksome pace. Even past trainers use to mollycoddle him and that was the most upsetting action to his image. Hugo leapt off from her arms and went ahead of her at a speedy rate. “!!"
She had to catch up with Hugo. Worried that he might open up his wound, or that he'll get lost. In truth, if she were to lose track of Hugo, most definitely he would not hunt for just sport. Within time she stopped in her tracks. The shinx lanced behind the gentleman looking up at him with a leer. Instantly, Eryn found herself across from the outsider as if the two had too just coincidently cross paths. Her breath hiccuping as her heart pumped out the leftover oxygen. Arriving, she slowly glanced at the local boy. His spotless, pallid blonde hair was styled mostly short and crowned with ruffled bangs. Sophistication and height differences were easy to guess out loud but the man was an enigma through her book. Her eyes half-way opened, lacked any shine and her brows scrunched as she "Hello.” Her small greeting spoke no-nonsense, neither in a playful tone or mature fixture. She did not force her words through the importance of their first meeting. Little by little she wanted the conversation to skim nicely without the worry of angering the guy. "T-Terribly sorry for...him. He's- still being trained." Her hands tried to reach out to the shinx who inched farther from her presence. It clearly seemed Hugo was not helping at this point with having normal first impressions.

When the Shinx jumped out his owners arms and came running toward him, it became even more clear to Bellamy that this interaction was not only inevitable, it was kismet. The small electric-type Pokemon came near him, ducking behind his legs; Jordan stopped moving, afraid to kick the Pokemon by accident. As its owner drew closer, the Pokemon seemed to hunker down. "Someone's playful," Bellamy mused with a grin. He wanted to let the trainer know that this was not an annoyance for him.
As the green-haired young woman apologized for Shinx's behavior, Jordan raised his arms in a friendly manner. He didn't even notice the bubbles breaking through the thin ice of the river surface. "No, honestly," he started, "there's nothing to apologize for. It's all part of the training process, right?" He knew just a little about Pokemon training. None of his own Pokemon had given him problems with disobedience. He watched the trainer reach for her Pokemon and the Pokemon, subsequently, inch away from her. Not wanting to be a living hindrance, the blonde side-stepped just a bit. "There," he said, hoping his new position would help out some.
It was from his new position that he saw the Corphish and Poliwag emerge from the river. They were up on the river bank now, coming toward the small group. The Poliwag seemed to be headed for him while the Corphish was heading for the young woman. "Hey, look out," he warned, noticing that the two Pokemon seemed to have no reservations about approaching the party. The Corphish did hang back ever so slightly, but that wild Poliwag was getting awfully close. He couldn't tell whether it had intentions of attacking or not, but then when the naughty little water-type blew frothy bubbles at the researcher he almost fell over backwards to avoid the blow.
From his vulnerable position on the ground Bellamy reached for a Pokeball and threw one into the air, releasing his Munchlax. The Big Eater planted itself on the ground, looking at the Poliwag with no sense of urgency to the situation. In fact, Munchlax lackadaisically looked over at the young woman and her Pokemon in such proximity. "Munchlax, pay attention!" Bellamy chided, just before Poliwag attacked with Bubble again, landing the attack squarely in Jordan's pokemon's gut. But now Munchlax was paying attention. Following the instructions of his trainer, the pre-evolution of Snorlax battled on with Poliwag until Bellamy decided to throw at Pokeball at the Pokemon.
At some point during the battle, Mr. Jordan had picked himself up off the ground. Now, regardless of if he caught Poliwag or not, he was turning to the other human to see how she was fairing. "Are you okay?" Truthfully, he hadn't been paying attention to what had transpired between her and the Corphish. But he wanted to make sure she was all right.

IS THIS FREEDOM,hover for notes | Eryn was about to speak her reply but paused almost surprised that he had spoken with simplicity. He made a moderate retort when Eryn expected a scornful result. She was lucky this time that she did not run into a fellow worse than what she deemed common around these parts. But, this was not the only reason to why her reply was put to a halt. Eryn did not think this all the way through. She did not know how to ask for cooperation properly. Eryn's irises continued to roll as she tried to think of something to get Hugo back. Soon, he stepped aside giving the two teammates some space. Then, Eryn was taken aback by his action. Was he planning something or was he just naturally this nice? "Hey, look out," She moved back with the talk of her heels clipping the silence she was keeping. “Er, of wha-?” While in response the girl promptly began rubbing her eyes. The interrupting dryness snapped her out of her little reverie. For some reason Eryn was encompassed in a boundless stare. Until, the boy plummeted. Right in front of her, he just fell. Eryn quickly blocked the sun from her vision trying to help him up but another rounded sphere was in range. “Tch.” The detonate air sliced the center of her palm. By the time it started to bleed she already tucked it away into her pocket. Then, her dimming eyes hooked onto a vigorous feeling,. She couldn’t tolerate that their conversation was cut short by a stupid bubble and more importantly that boy didn’t deserve that. What was she gonna do about it? She curled her other hand slightly and cupped it around her pursed lips. “♪” An audible, high-pitched whistle reclined. The powerful sound bounced into play and greeted each corner of the riverbank. Her shinx immediately skipped off from the stranger’s side and sauntered to the whereabouts of it’s next rival. “Don’t run recklessly and keep tabs on that water-type." Eryn's husky message wasn't the best one. She demanded the cub's obedience, if he were to have another way to escape her warning, she'll have no problem replacing him with Terusov.Hugo's clenching teeth unfastened and loosened up. “Use Tackle and slow it down with Leer.” His trainer’s eloquent instructions triggered the shinx to act. Hugo booted into the frosted air, his tail stiffly out stretched, while his cranium hung low. His image visionally announced to be quick and yet all the more paralyzing at it’s rate. Hugo smashed into the red-shelled pokemon. The four pairs of limbs spiked as it collapsed and slid across the frost-bitten land. It’s saucer-like eyes scanned the scapegrace. In spotlight coruscating from the aged oak, Hugo emitted a breath that passed through stained ivories. Once the corphish got back to conscience it had no choice but to accept the challenge. The erupt, volley of bubbles homed at the shinx and bursting into smithereens once they made contact. Hugo pulled himself forward with his hind legs dragging behind, making small trails in the earth, inching closer to the crustacean. Scuffed fur sticking up and the rickety gait trying to regain some strength left the shinx bruised from the barrage. But, he wasn't and down and out - obviously he was being enticed even more to beat down this failure of a specimen. The shinx's cherry nose twitched and fixed up towards the ‘corphish’ across from the neutral field. While Eryn watched incessantly at the crimson being dowsed by an eldritch leer. Her arm shivered from the abrade area on her palm but she remained strong-willed to ignore the pain. Cracked pawpads rippled in the puddles around Hugo. The duo drenched in a heated fight and shook each other’s balance back and forth. The overthrowing of the same moves had made them both fatigue. But, Hugo still outstandingly remained on that pyrrhic victory streak. The shinx walked by the munchlax as it tried to catch it’s breath. He allowed himself to relax onto his haunches, but there was a certain tension gripping his body. He tried not to look particularly stiff, as he was a generally rather calm cat, but he was finding some difficulty settling down. His ears slanted at the sight of his trainer as though he was still hearing the awful ringing. "Are you okay?” “Who cares about how I feel - how you feel is bound to be much more interesting.” The ending chortle shrouded in her tense reply. Her neck exposed as she tossed her head up to look at the cleared skies above them. As though unimportant information hovered over her. It was unbelievable that he was able to recover from such a crushing fright and ask her such things. It was surprising and cute in a way that made her lose her concentration for a moment. “I didn’t expect a man of your stature to tumble off like that.” Like a child, she couldn’t take it seriously. “Y-You are okay…I’m sure?” She casted her study upon the teen once again. She wanted to check for any laceration but it’d be rude of her to stupidly eye-ball him. So, she stuck with just pleasantly asking and meeting his glance. Besides, she'd be of no use. She was…suppose to just walk along the sidelines and never engage. It was not meant to be and yet she kicked into habit. Or maybe, this was addressed to be predestined. However, this rose-colored outlook over a stranger could doom her existence - she couldn’t help to look into a sprouting misfortune. "Youuu?" She hinted a slight question in her dragging tone. Maybe being acquainted and knowing the name of this sidekick might brighten the situation. [Summary]A wild Ditto appeared! Ditto transformed into Corphish! Hugo used Tackle! Ditto used Harden!
