The day was a cold one, that was for sure. As he walked up the small hill to the professor's lab, Bellamy drove his fists deeper into his coat pockets. His teeth weren't chattering quite yet, but he craved a hot mug of coffee to warm his hands and insides. Maybe that's what he would do after he attained his starter Pokemon from Hickory.
He had been interacting with Pokemon all his life. Even now, he could see some species he recognized gallivanting around the Professor's building. But he had never had a Pokemon of his own. That might be a little embarrassing at his ripe age of twenty, but he was hoping to make up for lost time. As he climbed higher and the temperature dropped around him, he reflected on why it had taken him so long to get his first Pokemon. For so long, he kept his head in the books and convinced himself that he just didn't have the time to raise a team of his own Pokemon companions, even though he really did tend to enjoy their company.
Now that he was getting his first Pokemon, he hoped to strike out and start catching more Pokemon soon with his starter's help. For everything he wanted to accomplish, he would need a diverse team with a wide range of strengths and abilities. That was the only way he was ever going to become to specialist he aspired to be. But as the adage goes, the journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step.
And this was his.
He knocked on the door and stood back, quickly putting his hand back into his pocket and awaiting the Professor's open door. He hoped it was warm inside.

Hello, Hello!
She pulled the scarf a little tighter round her neck as she walked back into her laboratory through the back door. Her assistants came bounding towards her carrying a mug of hot coca. She took it and walked over to her desk. She heard a knock at the door. She motioned for an assistant to get it. Throwing her arms open wide she stood up in a grand gesture. "Welcome to my Lab!" She beamed as an assistant took him a cup of coca, "Here are your options for a travelingcompanion young sir."  MIME jr. Ability: filter

Jordan accepted the hot cocoa gladly before thanking the assistant. He thought it was coffee. He took a sip and then grimaced in disappointment, but continued to drink to avoid appearing rude. In the future it was likely that Professor Hickory would be a colleague of his, and he didn't want their first impression to be that one time he turned down her hospitable beverage. "Thank you," he said aloud, walking nearer to the woman sitting at the desk who had just jumped up to greet him.
He knew how this process worked. She placed the three Pokeballs in front of him with their accompanying information cards. Somehow, all of his options were Psychic types. It was too early to tell, but something instinctively told him that this would greatly help him out moving forward in his studies.
"This is a big decision," he said aloud to himself, realizing only afterwards that Hickory had probably heard him. His eyes fell on the second Pokeball for the third or fourth time - he couldn't remember - and reached his hand out for the ball. He picked it up and felt the weight in his palm, considering it. "I think I want to go with Munna, professor."
He held onto the ball while waiting to see if the renowned professor had any more information for him before he was off. Part of him wanted to ask to tour the facility, but he didn't want to be a bother.
