It had taken a long while to convince her brother to wait outside while she went to get her pokemon. Honestly, she loved him all but this was ridiculous. She was entrusted to start a branch out here not him! Why was he following her anyway? Didn't he have some sort of test to still take to be a researcher? Oh well. Maybe he'd go away when she showed him she had a pokemon capable of defending her. She really hoped there was NO Fairy, rock, or poison types about. Those were her least liked types and she would be fine with anything. Opening the doors, she walked in and gave a smile as she spied the professor.
"Hello Miss, I was wondering if you still had any starter pokemon ready?" Hazel asked, keeping a kin smile on her face as she approached.

Hello, Hello!
Peering out into the main room of the lab from her own personal office space, Professor Hickory's cheeks blushed at the sight of her newest visitor. "Oh my, what an adorable young boy!" She exclaimed, not realizing that he was able to hear what she said, nor that she'd gotten the guest's gender completely mixed up.
"Well now, I've got some very special Pokemon for you!" Her gushing continued as she reached into a draw, tossing three Pokeballs with a swoon. "Please, take your time, and pick which ever one you'd like." Oh dear, how embarrassed she would be when the truth dawned on her, if ever.  exeggcute Ability: CHLOROPHYLL

Even though they mistook him for a boy, Hazel didn't say anything on it. After all, she was only going to know this lady for a little bit. So there was no need to correct her. Watching each pokemon come out of the pokeball, Hazel's eyes went wide as she took in two of them. She had heard of shinies and once saw a customer of her parents have one hatch. Could these two pokemon really be shiny? The plusle looked pretty normal though it looked a tad darker an she didn't see much of a smoochum before.
"How about the plusle? Can I take him?" Hazel asked.
Even though the plusle wouldn't evolve, that didn't mean it couldn't become stronger. Besides, out of all three of em she liked the electric type more.
