Heatwave coming (mod)

Even though the deerling escaped, Lunick was fine with it. He was having a good run with the pokemon he already caught, so that was alright. They were growing and getting stronger while he was still learning from them. Petting Silver on the head, he continued walking while Sear migrate to the top of his head. A combee came buzzing around. Seeing that his current team could use some more training at the current time, he turned to Sear.

"You ready to go again pal?" Lunick asked, Sear gave a nod though they didn't seem very confident in it.

Taking the fire type off his head and setting them on the ground, he took a Lemonade drink from his bag and gave it to Sear. Restoring the pokemon's health the rest of the way.

"Better?" Lunick asked, Sear jumped happily. "Very good, now let's get this going. Use Scratch."

Sear turned round and jumped at the Combee, landing a scratch that actually did a good deal of damage due to a random crit. The Combee was still up though an while dazed for a moment, quickly responded with kicking up a small tornado of wind and hurling it at Sear for it used Gust. The blow landed though Sear wasn't too badly hurt by it.

"Use another scratch." Lunick instructed.

Sear went towards the combee with it's claws out, striking another blow that did normal damage, leaving the Combee in the air still. A pinkish mist surrounded the combee before it was launched at Sear as it was Sweet Scent, lowering Sear's evasiveness harshly.

"Scratch again." Lunick said, which repeated the same thing.

The scratch landed though the Combee now looked like it was struggling to stay airborn. Once again the Combee used Sweet Scent, lower Sear's evasiveness even more harshly.

"Once more Sear, you can do this." Lunick encouraged.

With claws unsheathed, Sear swung at the Combee. Causing it to faint.

Minus one Lemonade

Moving the combee off the path and to a safer spot, Lunick procedded to keep walking with Sear following behind him. It wasn't that much farther to go though a Slakoth showed up dangling from a branch as it spied the trainer, it dropped down and made a sound. Lunick knew this pokemon could be rather lazy and often prone to goofing off every so often in a battle. SO it wasn't the best choice to be of aid. Sear moved ahead of Lunick an gave a thumbs up to his trainer. Alright, it wasn't going to hurt to keep training.

"Alright Sear." Lunick started. "Use scratch."

Sear rushed forward with unsheathed claws an struck the Slakoth, the pokemon stayed still despite being hit. A thing this pokemon was rather well known for. However it slowly raised a claws paw an swung it at Sear, returning the previous scratch.

"Scratch again." Lunick said.

With unsheathed claws, Sear swung at the normal type pokemon. Landing a blow again though the Slakoth did nothing in return due to it's Traunt ability. Pretty much it was just loafing around and laying there. Lunick had Sear do another scratch, landing the blow easily due to the wild pokemon slaking off. However it soon retaliated by using Hammer Arm and lowered Sear's speed. This resulted in the Slakoth going first this time though it went back to loafing, resulting in Sear having been told to use scratch again. Landing the blow and causing the slakoth to faint.

Taking out Silver's pokeball, he released her an gave her a lemonade to get her strength back up. It shouldn't be too much farther right? Before he could even get moving, a Karrablast appeared in front of them on the path. SIlver had a feeling what was going to happen and moved forward, ready to start the battle.

"Use peck." Lunick told her.

Silver took off at the bug type flying high though she descended to strike the Karrablast. Being a super effective move, it's health lowered to half way already. The karrablast retaliated with a peck of it's own, though it hardly did a thing.

"Peck once more." Lunick told her.

Silver flew forwards though the small pokemon rolled to the side, dodging the attack and giving the Skamoray a glare as it flew past. Thus lowering her defenses. Giving the instructions for another peck, Silver swooped back an struck the bug type, ending the battle as it fainted. Todd moved the pokemon off the path and into the bushes so it would be a little safer.

Lunick was honestly surprised by what he saw come his way next. A snorunt but it was shiny! A light blue color and some yellow on it instead of it's traditional colors. Knowing that Silver would have a disadvantage, he choose to have Sear handle it. Looking down at the fire type, Sear gave a nod and stood prepared.

"Alright, use scratch!" Lunick said, Sear darted forward with it's paws ahead of em and swung.

The blow hit the Snorunt and the pokemon was quick to retaliate, using Powder Snow. It caused the wind around it to pick up to lift the snow up, only for it to be hurled at Sear. The attack landed, causing Sear to be pushed back and they shuddered. Even as a fire type, it was still no doubt cold but Sear seemed alright other than that.

"Scratch again." Lunick instructed.

Sear darted forward and struck the Snorunt, it's hp going down the same bit as before. The Snorunt responded by using Powder snow once more and the move landed. IT would be wiser to use Ember but Sear didn't have that move yet, so he was stuck with only two moves. The snorunt could have any moves out of four, so it was hard to know just what to expect. For now, it seemed focusing on dealing damage just as much as Sear was doing to it.

"Use Leer." Lunick said, changing it up a little bit.

Sear gave a intimidating glare, lowering the Snorunt's defenses. The snorunt made a sound as it used Powder Snow again, though Sear was able to dodge the hurling snow this time.

"Use scratch." Lunick said.

With a lower defense state, perhaps this would work? Sear darted forward and landed the scratch, taking away a bit more health and thus allowing it to be out of the green for the Snorunt. The Snorunt used Leer, lowering Sear's defenses as well. This was followed by Sear being told to use scratch again, the blow landed and the snorunt once more used leer further lowering Sear's defenses. Seeing as how it would be wise not to waste any more time. Lunick took a pokeball out and threw it. Watching the pokeball shake on the ground.
